The Imo State Government says it is taking steps to recover all government lands illegally acquired or allocated to individuals.

State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba made this known while briefing newsmen at the end of the State Executive Council meeting in Owerri, the state capital.

Emelumba also said the State Government was not pleased with the authorities of the Imo State University over non-payment of February salary to staff despite releasing January and February subventions to the school.

The Commissioner explained that the government has paid the salaries of its workers up to May 2020.

The State Executive Council commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for stopping payroll fraud in the State which led to the payment of workers salaries and entitlements of pensioners
