At least 5 persons are feared dead in Orlu town,Orlu local government area of Imo State after a gun battle between the Nigeria army and suspected members of IPOB
When ait.live contacted the Imo State Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, he confirmed the incident but could not state the number of casualties because he has not gotten the full detail of the gun battle.
According to eyewitness account there’s was panic in the town because of the sporadic shooting everywhere and many residents had to scamper for safety.
The incidents may not be unconnected to alleged killing of a military officer and police personnel, by suspected members of the IPOB Eastern Security Network few days ago.
All efforts to get through to the Army Commander 34 artillery brigade Imo state, and the Army Public relations officer in Imo state proved abortive.
