In a significant milestone for Nigeria’s healthcare sector, Imo State in the South-East has achieved a major breakthrough with the successful completion of robot-assisted surgeries at the newly established Imo Robotics and Oncology Centre.
The state government says the initiative is aimed at expanding access to advanced medical care, particularly in the treatment and prevention of prostate cancer.

Governor Hope Uzodinma, while expressing delight over the development, says the technology will provide seamless access to prostate surgery and help in the fight against cancer and disease.
