Nigeria’s House of Representatives has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to halt the planned electronic evaluator and invoicing for import and export businesses scheduled for February 1, 2022
This followed a motion on the floor of the green chamber sponsored by lawmaker representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopa Moro Federal Constituency of Kogi State describing the move by the apex bank as haphazard.
The House accused the central Bank of gradually deviating from its primary functions of monetary policy measures.

They want adequate time to acquaint and sensitize stakeholders and the public on the workability of the policy in all major ports of entry across the country before it is hurriedly implemented in five days .
The House therefore invited the Governor of the central Bank of Nigeria to brief the committee on the proposed policy so as not to distort the revenue target of the Nigeria customs service.
