Public Health Physicians in Nigeria have called for an Ideal and more Progressive health care financing mechanism to reduce the burden of out of pocket Payment that has plunged many families into Poverty
Speaking at a forum in Lagos State with the theme ” Global Health under threat: Advancing sustainable financing and work force capacity, they noted that almost seventy Percent of funds for health care services still comes from out of Pocket which is a model for failure in some parts of the world.
Public Health Physicians are Doctors focused on Protecting and improving the health of the entire communities and not just individual Patients.
They also prevent diseases by Promoting wellness and controlling health threats like epidemics.
They are unhappy about the current health financing system where Many families go into poverty due to the burden of out of pocket Payment for health care services in Nigeria which formed the trust of discussions at this biennial scientific Conference.
While also advocating for more uptake of health insurance, they advocated for an integration in the operation of the scheme
