A Nigerian poet and polemicist, Odia Ofeimun, says there is need to improve the reading and writing skills among young adults across the country to help address leadership challenges and socio-economic development
The author of many volumes of poetry, books of political essays and on cultural politics, said this during a forum of reading and writers dialogue on Saturday in Abuja.
The leadership of the association of Nigerian Authors Abuja Chapter said writers have played a pivotal role in holding Nigerian leaders accountable through writing hence the need to increase support for reading and writing in the country.
Other speakers Canvassed support for the development of the society through quality literature education for young people in the country.
The reading and writers dialogue forum provided an opportunity for young people to interact with some successful poets and authors.
