The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced distribution of sensitive election materials ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly Elections across the 17 local government areas of Plateau State.
Speaking to journalists at the Central Bank, Jos venue of the exercise, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Terso Gundu said all is set for the elections.
Gundu, who promised a hitch-free exercise, explained that the commission ordered all election materials be opened and properly inspected before.
The Interparty Advisory Council, IPAC in its comments said the inspection became necessary following the experience during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Political parties present at the exercise said they had taken the serial number of each box to ensure accountability, but expressed concern over INECs failure to carry political parties’ agents along in the configuration of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines.
