The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has put in place measures for the smooth conduct of the November 16th, 2024 Ondo State off-cycle Governorship election in the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
Chairman of the Nigerian electoral body, Professor Mahmood Yakubu told the press during a tour of INEC offices in Akure North and South Local Areas that the Commission has taken premium consideration of People With Disabilities (PWDs) and provided adequate materials to enable smooth voting process during the election.

The Electoral Offices at the two LGAs had earlier assured of high level of preparedness ahead of polling, though concerns were raised on technical and logistics issues.

Specifically, the Electoral officer for Akure North Local Government Area raised concerns about poor communication network in the LGA; which may pose a challenge on Election Day, especially during transfer of results to the INEC Result Viewing portal.
The Chairman of the Commission will on Wednesday, November 6 conduct a mock election accreditation exercise in 12 designated polling units cutting across 6 Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
