The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria, Thursday, distributed sensitive materials in preparation for the rerun election in Udenu/Igbo-Eze North Federal Constituency and Enugu South Urban State Constituency, scheduled for February 3rd, 2024.
The sensitive materials were distributed at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Enugu city, with the presence of security agencies and representatives of political parties.
Both elections, taking place in three Local Government Areas and 25 Registration Areas, totalling 173 polling units, were ordered by the Appeal Court following the nullification of the February 2023 general elections in the affected constituencies due to discrepancies.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Enugu State, Chukwuemeka Chukwu, who oversaw the process, told Journalists that the distribution of ballot papers signifies the Commission’s readiness for the bye-election.
