INEC distributes sensitive materials ahead Saturday’s bye-election in Niger State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Niger State, has distributed sensitive electoral materials to Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency, preparatory to Saturday’s bye-election.

The distribution took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria office in Minna, in the presence of the National Electoral Commissioner, State Resident Electoral Commissioner, as well as representatives of the participating political parties and Civil Societies.

The National Electoral Commissioner, Festus Okoye, said that the Commission is out to conduct a free, fair, and credible bye-election, that will be acceptable to all the parties.

Okoye maintained that they will work closely with the security agencies, to ensure that the eligible voters are not denied the opportunity to elect the candidate of their choice that will represent the Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Samuel Egwu, said the Commission will inspect the polling units before the election.

He also stressed that all Ad-hoc Staff will receive training prior to the election day
