The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has met with critical stakeholders in Zamfara State, intimating them about its plan to expand voting centres and reduce the number of voters in each polling unit to 750.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Zamfara State, Asmau Sani, said the commission wants to expand the voting centres to make the voting process even more convenient for the electorate.

Sani said with over 80 million registered voters, there is the urgent need for INEC to increase the voting centres to enable the Nigerian electorate to vote with ease.
She advised every eligible voter who has not registered to come out to register to enable him or her to exercise his or her franchise during elections.
Speaking, a Civil Rights Activist in Zamfara State, Ibrahim Tudun, said while the Civil Society wanted between 250 and 500 registered voters at a voting point to make the process convenient for voters, INEC has gone ahead to peg it at 750 per polling unit.
Stakeholders raised other issues especially as they concern insecurity in the State.
