The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a Certificate of Return to the lawmaker-elect of the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency in Zamfara State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Zamfara State, Mahmud Isah, who presented the certificate on behalf of the commission, described the occasion as crucial, as it is a landmark achievement in Nigeria’s drive to consolidate and deepen the tenets of democracy.
The lawmaker-elect, Kamilu Sa’adu, thanked the people of Kaura Namoda South State Constituency for coming out en masse to vote for him.
He pledged to reciprocate the gesture, by providing good representation at the National Assembly.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Ibrahim Muhammad, urged the elected lawmaker to give quality representation to the electorate, who filed out in their numbers, to overwhelmingly vote for him to emerge winner in the recently concluded by-election.
Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar Daji, who won the 2023 election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died last year.
