Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo receives certificate of return from INEC following his re-election victory

Governor Charles Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachi Ibezim have been issued Certificates of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

This follows their victory in Saturday’s off-cycle governorship election.

At the ceremony in the INEC head office in Awka, National Commissioner, Kenneth Ukeagu, said the presentation signifies the Commission’s commitment to due process, which requires that winners are issued certificates of return within 14 days of declaration of election results.

Ukeagu also describes the ceremony as the final seal on the electoral process, urging the Governor to build on his first-term achievements through transparent governance.

The victory fever is still high in Anambra state for the winning team of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as an enthusiastic crowd of supporters accompanied him and his deputy as they arrived for the official presentation of their Certificates of Return; less than 48 hours after being declared winner of the November 8 governorship election.

For Governor Soludo, the moment is another milestone in Anambra State’s political history, as he joins the ranks of governors re-elected for a second term in office.

He expresses gratitude to the people of the state for their continued support and renewed confidence, assuring them of a more inclusive and people-centered administration in his second term.

The ceremony drew notable faces across the political spectrum, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Sly Ezeokenwa, top government officials, and a jubilant crowd of supporters who described Soludo’s victory as “a vote for continuity and progress.”
