The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has published the revised Register of Voters for the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the February 21, 2026 Area Council elections, placing the total number of eligible voters at one million, six hundred and eighty thousand, three hundred and fifteen.
The FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner, Aminu Idris, said the increase followed the Continuous Voter Registration exercise conducted between August and October 2025, in line with the Electoral Act.
He explained that the register underwent biometric de-duplication, public display for claims and objections, and compilation of a supplementary list, noting that the new register replaces all previous ones.
