The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has published the list and particulars of nominated candidates for the by-elections into the vacant national and state assembly seats in the 4 states of Jigawa, Niger, Kwara, and Sokoto, scheduled for March 14, 2020.

The commission in a statement signed by its national commissioner on voter education and publicity committee, Festus Okoye said its decision is sequel to the provisions of section 31(3) of the electoral act 2010 as amended, which calls for the publication of the affidavit containing the personal particulars of candidates in form cf(001) and documents submitted by political parties in their respective constituencies.

INEC said it also uploaded the form ecc9e, which is cf001 to its website www.inecnigeria.gov.ng for anyone who wishes to verify the credentials submitted by the candidates to INEC.

The statement also listed names and political parties participating in the by-elections.

INEC however assured that the commission is determined to conduct free, fair and credible polls and called on eligible voters in the respective constituencies to come out and exercise their franchise.
