INEC releases final bye-election candidates list

The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list and personal particulars of candidates participating in February 3, 2024 bye-elections across the country.

The Commission in a statement released by to journalists by its National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee Sam Olumekan said the elections will hold across nine States of the Federation covering two Senatorial Districts in Ebonyi South and Yobe East; four Federal Constituencies, which are, Shanga/Ngaski/Yauri Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, Surulere I Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State and Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba State.

Others include three State Constituencies, which are Guma I State Constituency of Benue State, Chibok State Constituency in Borno State and Chikun State Constituency in Kaduna State.
Olumekun said the publication of the list of candidates has be posted on the Commission’s website and social media platforms.
INEC has already released the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for bye-elections arising from the death or resignation of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly.
