An Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, the state capital, has adjourned to April 28, 2022 the trial of a University of Uyo lecturer, Prof Ignatius Uduk for electoral offenses.
The Adjournment is for ruling on the application for a “No Case” Submission filed by the defence.

At the resumed trial of Professor Ignatius Uduk , the issue that came for determination was the “No Case” submission filed by defense counsel, Abasiodiong Ekpenyong.
After arguments by both sides, the trial judge, Bassey Nkanang adjourned ruling on the application to April 28,2022.
Both counsels spoke to the media about their positions on the matter.
Prof Ignatius Uduk was the collation/returning officer in the State Assembly election for Essien Udim state constituency during the 2019 general election.
He has been arraigned in court by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for obtaining fake results from politicians and announcing same ;an offence the electoral umpire says was an infringement on the electoral act 2010 as amended and punishable by law.
