After twenty-four years of neglect, the people of Andoni local government area have finally had a project commissioned in their local government area with the completion of the 27. 5 kilometre section of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road

The commissioning of the road by Governor Sim Fubara also marks the first time the people of Andoni would drive to the headquarters of their local government Ngor.

After over two decades, the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road has finally become a reality with the completion of the 27.5-kilometre Andoni section of the network of roads spanning over 43 kilometres

It’s taken four successive administrations, starting from the days of former Governor Peter Odili to realise the dream

While the Opobo section of the Unity Road has since been completed and commissioned, work on the Andoni axis of the Unity Road was stalled until June last year when Governor Sim Fubara had no option but to revoke the job after discovering that the contractor had abandoned the site

The job was then re-awarded to another contractor.

As payback for the support he has enjoyed from the people, Governor Sim Fubara says his administration will embark on more projects in Andoni local government area

In the same vein, the governor says priority will be given to three key sectors, agriculture, education, and health.

The Rivers State Governor is again using the occasion to call on the people of the state to continue to support the efforts of the President Tinubu led federal government
