Injuries as Amotekun, herders clash after Cows destroy Farms in Ondo

Operatives of Amotekun Corps and some herders on Friday engaged in a clash after over 120 Cows destroyed a tomatoe farm worth millions of naira in Igoba Town,Akure Local Government area of ondo state.

AIT gathered that while operatives of the Amotekun corps were moving the arrested cows feeding on the tomatoe farm to the Corps headquarters in Akure, they were allegedly met with resistance and attacked by a group of herders along Akure-Igoba- Ado Ekiti Road.

It was gathered that although nobody was declared dead, contrary to insinuation but several persons and security agents were injured during the clash.

Confirming the incident,The Public relations officer of the Amotekun corps,Jimoh Adeniken said the herders injured one of the Amotekun officers who later went into coma while attempting to disarm the officers and men of the Amotekun corps.

The PRO said other officers sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack and they are currently receiving medical attention at the Hospital.

Adeniken further noted that the owners of the cows have been identified while investigation continues by the corps.

Recall that the ondo state Government had on August 31, 2021, signed the Anti-Grazing Bill into law.
