Critical equipment required for the conduct of the current and future operations of the military, have been handed over to the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, Sector 3, at Monguno, Borno State.
The equipment were donated by the African Union.They range from military trucks, water tankers, generators, anti-riot Armoured Personnel Carriers, Improvised Explosive Device equipment, as well as tents, information and office equipment.

The equipment are meant to improve and enhance the combat efficiency of the sector The Multi-National-Joint-Task-Force Commander, Major-General Abdul Ibrahim, who handed over the equipment, said the donation is sequel to his visit to the African Union Logistic Base in Douala, Cameroon, where the equipment were identified.
“The MNJTF has facilitated the travel of 6 personnel from the Sector, to the African Union Logistic Base Douala, for training on the use, maintenance and repairs of these equipment.”
He said the donation and subsequent handover are a reflection of the African Union’s appreciation of the efforts of the MNJTF, in combatting terrorism, in the Lake Chad Region.
General Ibrahim urged the Sector, to sustain its efforts in that regard.
He also added that the equipment have equally been distributed across the four Multi-National-Joint-Task-Force sectors, saying they will be presented to the Sectors, at later dates.
