The Chief of Naval Staff, (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has visited Borno State, to assess the security situation in the state.
This is coming on the heels of a recent Boko Haram terrorist attack on a naval base.
During a visit to the military hospital at the 7 Division in Maiduguri, Ogalla consoled the wounded, and promised to address their problems, as well as provide more equipment, to rid the Lake Chad Basin, of terrorists.
Ogalla also paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum, where they discussed the security challenges in the region.
The naval chief, assured the governor, that the Nigerian Navy would continue to cater for the troops.
Ogalla who was also at the frontlines to boost the morale of his men, also promised to provide them with necessary equipment and weapons, to restore peace in the Lake Chad Basin region.
He commended the officers and men for their steadfastness, resilience, bravery, and gallantry.
The naval chief was accompanied by the theatre commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdullahi Abubakar, and other top military officers.
