Elder statesman and leader of the Niger Delta region, Edwin Clark wants President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently convey an emergency meeting of all the leaders of the six geopolitical zones of the country to chart a new way forward over the unending insecurity.
Addressing a virtual news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Clark said the regional security meeting embarked upon by the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno will not help the nation out of its current travails, but will further deepen the crisis.
He stated that it is high time President Buhari took a decisive action on the nation’s security and avoid listening to sycophants who are hell bent on destroying his government.
The elder statesman also advised the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, as well as the President’s spokesmen to refrain from feeding Nigerians with Lies on the true situation of things in the country.

While commending the peace efforts of Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmed Abubakar Gunmi, Clark warned against comparing the case of the Niger Delta agitators to that of Boko Haram, bandits, killer herdsmen, kidnappers amongst others, saying their demands are not reasonable.
Clark who also narrated how he recently recovered from the Covid 19 urged Nigerians to continue to adhere strictly to all the nonpharmaceutical protocols issued by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.
