The Police in Nasarawa State says they have arrested sixty-eight persons, including one Saalumun Waako, a member of the gang allegedly responsible for the killing of Dr. Terkula Suswam, elder brother to Senator Gabriel Suswam representing Benue North East at the 9th National assembly.

Terkula  Suswam was murdered on March 2, 2021, at Ayiin village in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, confirmed the arrest of one of the suspected killers of Terkula while parading 68 other suspected criminals recently arrested by the police across the state.

The Police Commissioner said the arrest of Waako followed credible information made available to the Police Command about a group of daredevil criminals who had concluded plans to strike at some locations within the Karu Local government area of the state.

He said on the heels of this on July 2, 2021, a vehicle conveying seven members of the suspected gang was trailed and blocked at a spot along Keffi- Abuja Road.

Six of them were arrested while the 7th member of the gang escaped.

The prime suspect Saalumun Waako who has also been on the wanted list of the Benue Police Command for offenses ranging from kidnapping, homicide to armed robbery, has been handed over to Benue State Police Command for further investigation.

A breakdown of some of the 68 suspected criminals arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command showed that eight are accused of armed robbery, five kidnappers, thirty-eight cultists, and two railway facility vandals.
