The Government of Niger State Says arrangements have been concluded to evacuate its students studying at the University of Jos, Plateau State.
The state government says the action has become necessary, following a recent breach of peace in some parts of the state where lives were lost.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Mary Berje, Governor Abubakar Bello, stressed that already, the Management of the University of Jos had announced the suspension of academic activities, including the second-semester examinations.

The statement added that the Ministries for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology, have mobilized vehicles and security personnel that will ensure safe evacuation and return of the students.
The state government said it is committed to ensuring that the lives and property of its people are safeguarded wherever they are.
