One hundred and one Officers and Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have received special weapon handling training.
The training is part of efforts to curb security challenges in different parts of Niger State.
The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Haruna Zurmi said, the training became necessary, as part of measures being taken by the Commandant-General, to bring back the glory days of the agency.
Haruna Zurmi said that one hundred and twenty-three Officers and Men of the Command were trained in January.
Zurmi is optimistic about the desire of the Corps to curtail the activities of criminal elements in the country.

He further said there is a need for the security agencies to be equipped with modern technology, to enhance their performance.
The Zone D Assistant Commandant-General, Clausus Yakubu, charged the Officer and Men to justify the confidence reposed on them, in the tasks ahead.
Governor Abubakar Bello assured the Corps of the state government’s support, as part of efforts to address some of the challenges affecting them.
