The people Andoni Local Government Area have called on the Rivers State Government to urgently help them in tackling the security challenges made worse by cult activities in the area.

The people made the plea on Tuesday when traditional rulers, chiefs and stakeholders in Andoni met with Governor Nyesom with a view to finding solution to their security nightmare.

Disturbed by the worsening state of insecurity in their area, Traditional Rulers, Chiefs and other stakeholders from Andoni Local Government Area are at the Government House Port Harcourt to seek the intervention of the Rivers State Government.

Speaking on behalf of the people, Paramount ruler of Ikuru Town King Aaron Ikuru who only regained freedom from his abductors a month ago says their lives and communities have been made unsafe by the wanton violence unleashed by youths engaged in cult activities.

While assuring them of his administration’s support, Governor Nyesom Wike says the people of Andoni must unite in order to tackle the security challenges currently bedeviling their area.

The Governor also emphasizes the need for information sharing.

The Rivers State Governor frowned at what he says as the levity and sycophancy with which the issue of insecurity is being handled in the country.

Governor Nyesom Wike therefore wants Nigerians to rise above their differences and unite to save the country from the dangers ahead.
