No fewer than 1,000 personnel of the Taraba State Security Guard Marshal outfit have successfully passed out after a 4-week intensive training programme in Jalingo, the State capital.

The State Governor, Agbu Kefas said the State’s Marshal Security Guard has been strategized to play a significant role as an integral part of the State’s renewed security architecture.

Speaking at the Passing Out ceremony, the Governor noted that personnel of the State Marshal Security Guard
are expected to improve the local intelligence network of other security agencies in the State.

Governor Agbu Kefas tasked them on their roles of protecting communities, securing farmlands, supporting the Nigerian Police Force and the military, while serving as frontline intelligence gathering in their respective wards.

Governor Kefas added that with the Marshall in place, Taraba State will no longer tolerate criminality, illegal mining, banditry, or lawlessness.

Commander of the Taraba Marshal Security Guards, Agyole Abeh said the training has prepared the personnel for the task of providing security at both the State and community levels.

The Taraba Marshal Security Guards are expected to use the knowledge of their communities to aid in improving security, especially addressing contemporary security challenges, and navigating ungoverned spaces.
