Report reaching AIT on Sunday has it that residents of Villages in Wase local Government area of Plateau state have began fleeing their homes following the withdrawal of soldiers stationed in the area.

AIT gathered, that the soldiers, were stationed in the community in August last year when terrorists attacked some villages on market day with many persons reportedly killed.

Various communities of Wase were recently given Quit notice by terrorists in addition to the banditry attacks, kidnapping and cattle rustling already experienced in Wase.

A resident of Pinau village, Baduku Aliyu, who confirmed the development told AIT that his village became unsafe soon after the soldiers were withdrawn on Saturday forcing locals to began fleeing for fear that terrorists could invade the community again.

According to Aliyu, other communities before his village have been deserted following a Quit notice issued by the terrorists and the evacuation of soldiers back to the headquarters of the Council area in Wase, without any explanation has led to apprehnsion, Panic and confusion among the locals.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the special Task Force Operation Safe Haven, Major Ishaku Takwa, said it is not a withdrawal as widely speculated but a deliberate strategy to form a robust fighting team to avoid being overrun by the terrorists following the recent Ambush on Military Check Point by the bandits in Wase Community.

As at the time of filling this report, some villages in wase are already becoming desolate following the Mass Exodus of Locals.
