No fewer than three persons have been confirmed dead in a fresh separate attack which took place in two separate villages of Miango Chiefdom in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
ait.live gathered, that the first attack occurred Sunday night in Kwachudu village where a herder, Musa sale was killed and another herder, Abdulsalam Nuhu narrowly escaped with injuries.
While confirming the attack to ait.live in Jos, Plateau State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nura Abdullahi, accused members of the Irigwe ethnic group of carrying out the attack.
In a swift reaction, Irigwe ethnic group through it’s spokesman Davidson Malison, denied the allegation, saying it was unfounded and also disclosed that two members of the Irigwe community in Renwienku village were killed on Monday morning after the Sunday evening attack, and accused the Fulani of launching the attack, but the Fulani group denied the accusation.
When Contacted, the Spokesperson of the Plateau state Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, declined comment on the incident.
The attacks happened five days after the Irigwe and Fulani groups held a peace meeting with Governor Simon Lalong on the need to eschew violence and embrace peace.
