Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali says over 400,000 personnel from the nation’s security agencies will be deployed for the conduct of the general election.
Alkali said this on Thursday during the Ministerial Media Briefing organized by the Presidential Communications Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
He said from this number. the police will be providing over 300,000 personnel while the remainder will be sourced from complementary security agencies.

The police chief also listed threats against the conduct of the elections including fuel scarcity and the cash crunch, but promised the situation will stabilize before the commencement of the polls.
Alkali said an intelligence unit is in place to track and apprehend persons suspected to be involved in vote buying and other acts capable of disrupting the exercise.
