Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has said Nigeria will experience meaningful growth and development if institutions were reformed and infrastructure built from the Local government to the Federal government levels.

Obaseki stated this in Benin city on the Day one of the BRACED Commission’s strategic retreat for Heads of Service of the six States of the South South region.

The three days BRACED Commission strategic retreat for Heads of Service of the States of the region is taking place at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy in Benin City, the Edo State capital, with the theme: “Leadership In The Public Sector; Strengthening The Public Institutions”.

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki while addressing the participants who include Permanent Secretaries from the region said, building strong institutions was the panacea to growth and development

Professor Tunji Olaokpa spoke on the topic: “Strategic Leadership In Civil and Public Service: Challenges, Opportunities and Future Prospects”, while the Head of Service in the Edo State government, Anthony Okungbowa highlighted the importance of the retreat

The BRACED is an acronym for the regional body formed by Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Edo and Delta States, to seek common grounds in fostering development in the South South region of Nigeria.
