:The Benue State security council has disclosed plans to provide satellite phones and internet based communication gadgets to enhance transmission of intelligence to security operatives to check criminaluty occassioned by the recent influx of herders.
Deputy Governor of the State Benson Abounu disclosed this shortly after the State security meeting faulted security operatives approach to the attacks which he called reactionary rather than proactive.

About 3 weeks ago, the security council suspended operations of the livestock guard for a 2 week period to enable herders who came in illegally with cattle take them ou,t, but the situation has continued to worsen.
