An Internally Displaced Person at the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Edo State, Ishaku Amos, has been offered a scholarship to undergo his PhD at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA.

The 28 year old who will soon set out for the academic journey is firm in his belief that determination and faith in one’s abilities is key to achieving one’s dreams and aspirations.

Amos Ishaku is among thousands of refugees taking shelter at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp at Uhogua, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

He has gone from being a victim of the Boko Haram insurgency in North Eastern part of Nigeria to becoming a BSc and Masters degrees holder in Chemical Engineering.

Coordinator of the camp, Solomon Folorunsho expressed joy at Amos’s achievement.

He called for encouragement from well meaning Nigerians, Government at all levels and corporate bodies.

The scholar was only eighteen years old when he left Borno State to seek shelter at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp, at Uhogua.

He is a young man who did not allow his dreams die inspite the tragedies faced and is now on the verge of achieving the highest academic feat.
