Oxfam line women’s organisation, celebrated International Women’s Day in Bauchi, on Tuesday advocating for equal rights for women in decision making.

The group also advocated for government at all levels to recruit women as Agric Extension workers, in a bid to make agriculture more friendly to women.

The celebration was marked at the College of Health Technology, Ningi, and in some parts of Bauchi the capital city.

Worried about the challenging times women in Nigeria are passing through, especially in education in northern Nigeria, the representatives of women from the Agriculture Desk in the Ministry of Agriculture, called on the government to do more, in breaking the bias.

With this year’s theme, being “gender equality today, for sustainable tomorrow,” the message served as a clarion call for all stakeholders, to ensure equality and inclusion of women in decision making.
