As Nigeria Joins the rest of the world to mark International Youths Day, Edo State Government has restated its commitment to sustain efforts that would provide more opportunities for youths to reach their full potential by empowering them to be able to contribute to the development of the state and society.

This was revealed by the State Commissioner for Youths and Humanitarian Affairs, Chris Nehikhare in Benin City during the celebration of the event which holds on August 12 yearly.

The theme for this year’s International Youths Day is Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for all ages.
To this end, the Edo State Government is putting measures in place by creating an enabling environment for them to thrive through the provision of quality education and empowerment.

The State Commissioner for Youths and Humanitarian Affairs, Chris Nehikhare says over five thousand of them were undergoing training in the IT sector that will qualify them to work in Nigeria and earn in foreign currency.

Some residents in Benin City lauded the youths describing them as the engine room of the Nation and insisted that the potential of the youthful population be tapped with relevant tools and opportunities given to them.

They believed that Nigerian youths will excel anywhere in the world if the right environment is provided for them.
