The Nigerian Government has held its position of ensuring protection for all children and pushing to instil a decent work agenda and social security among workers.
This is coming as the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in far away international conference holding in Geneva Switzerland, indicted the federal government for failing in its responsibility to save most Nigerian children from the menace.
Labour in its presentation indicted the Nigerian government on the increasing number of Children engaged in child labour due to the high rate of unemployment and crass poverty.
On her part, Nigeria says her government is not leaving any stone unturned to give the needed protection to children, and women and ensure the country rectifies more conventions on social security and minimum standards.

Nigeria’s permanent secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Daju Kachollon, spoke at the podium in reaction to the ILO Director General, Gilbert Houngbo’s opening speech on equality, social justice and end to disparity, says, Nigeria has a working document ready to address key complaints.
The 111th International Labour Conference is holding in Geneva with over 5000 delegates.
