The inter-party advisory council, ipac says it will push for the reduction of electoral litigation cases in court and ensure the speedy process of governance in Nigeria.
The organization also said it will begin the process of authentication and vetting of political office aspirants and candidates’ credentials in order to sanitize the polity in Nigeria.
Chairman of the inter-party advisory council, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle said this in Abuja, during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria.
Going by the provisions of section 29 the Electoral Act 2022 which talks about the eligibility of candidates and falsification of documents and Bearing in mind that the Nigerian electioneering landscape is bedecked with endless litigations, some of them running into years, the inter-party advisory council, ipac has teamed up with the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria, to rid the polity of unnecessary waste of time and unqualified persons.
The two organizations also promised to push for the reduction of the cost of nominations and electioneering campaigns.
The inter-party advisory council is made up of 19 registered political parties by the independent national electoral commission.
