The Nigerian Government says reviving Ajaokuta Steel Plant, once considered the cornerstone of the country’s industrial ambitions, will create jobs, enhance local production capacity, and contribute significantly to national economic growth.
Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu told a gathering during the Eid el Kabir celebration in his country home in Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State that reviving the project, which has reached advanced stage, is part of a broader strategy to boost the nation’s economy through industrial and steel development.
He said the move underscores the bold economic reforms and developmental vision of President Bola Tinubu’s government.

The minister also pointed to early signs of the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda taking root, including a slight drop in the prices of some essential food items, a development he attributed to improved policy direction.
