Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has declared Monday the 9th of August 2021 as public holiday to commemorate the New Islamic year 1443.
A statement by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, And Culture, Baba Kura Abba Jato, also urged all and sundry to seize the opportunity to fast and pray for the quick return of peace to the state and the entire nation.

Furthermore, Zulum appealed to the people of Borno State to live in peace and harmony for which Borno is known.
The governor also congratulated the entire people of Borno State for witnessing yet another Islamic new year.
