The Federal government says it cannot recommence the Abuja-Kaduna train services for now.
It explains that it will be insensitive to the plight of families whose loved ones are still captive.
The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, said this in Abuja on Wednesday, while responding to questions from State House Correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the Executive Council of the Federal Government.
He noted that until those who are still in captivity are released, and surveillance and monitoring systems are installed on the rail track, it will be difficult to commence operations.

The minister said the government is considering a public-private partnership agreement to protect rail lines in the country.
Terrorists had on March 28 2022 attacked an Abuja-Kaduna-bound train, kidnapping more than 60 passengers.
