The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, has told his political associates that he has not endorsed any candidate for the governorship or any other political office in Rivers State.
He added that his only political commitment ahead of the 2027 general elections at the moment is to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a reelection.

The Minister made this clarification while hosting a joint coalition of politicians from across party lines in Rivers State, at a meeting held in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Wike also warned that no Governor from any State has the authority to impose a candidate on the people of Rivers State.
