Former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, has called on members of the Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP) not to engage in fake pledges during electioneering campaigns to preserve the integrity of the party.

Addressing the gathering, Jega called on members of the party to embarked on a door to door campaign, stressing that PRP is the only political party that can salvage Nigeria in 2023.

He stated this in Birnin Kebbi, capital of Kebbi State during a stakeholders meeting, organized by the party’s State Executive Council, to inaugurate the Campaign Committee for the 2023 General Election.

Jega, who was physically absent but joined the conversation online accepted the task of leading the party’s campaign team in Kebbi State.

While congratulating members of the campaign tram, the former INEC umpire advised members of PRP not to embark on any political campaigns yet until INEC gives the green light.

The State Governorship candidate, Abubakar Udu, thanked Professor Attahiru Jega, for his contributions to the development of the PRP in Kebbi State and the nation as a whole.

According to Udu, without Jega’s guidance and support the party wouldn’t have achieved what it has so far in the State.

He added that PRP has been resuscitated.

The Kebbi State Acting Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP), Sulaiman Argungu, formally inaugurated members of the committee with Professor Attahiru Jega, as Chairman.
