A joint operation of Puff Adder and Sharan-Daji in Katsina State has repelled a bandit attack on some communities in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Police spokesman, Gambo Isah, in a statement said that 59 rustled animals made up of goats and sheep were recovered, 7 motorcycles, and a magazine of 30 rounds of 7.62 millimetres of AK 47 rifles was also captured.

According to the statement, the Divisional Police Officer of Batsari led a joint operation of “Puff Adder” and “Sharan-Daji” to Shekewa village, an exit route to Dumburum forest, and successfully repelled the bandits on a heinous mission after engaging the hoodlums in a fierce gun battle.

Isah, while hailing the doggedness of the men and officers, said the uncommon courage and tactical operational strategy adopted by the security operatives, made the bandits flee into the forest, with bullet wounds.

The Command urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies working at the frontline areas, by providing credible information on bandits and their collaborators, especially those supplying them with arms and ammunition, informants and other essential characters.
