The Joint Police/ Military operation has rescued nine kidnapped children at Gora Namaiye community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Yazid Abubakar explained that on 3rd June 2023, the police received information from the district Head of Gora Namaye village that nine Children who were sent on an errand by their parents to fetch firewood were intercepted and abducted by terrorists.

It said on receipt of the report, nearby joint police and other security agencies mobilized to the scene and commenced a search and rescue operation which resulted in the rescue of the nine abducted Children.
The kidnapped victims have been reunited with their families, and efforts are still on to trace the terrorists for prosecution.
