Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and former Ghanaian President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo on Monday visited Vice President Kashim Shettima in London, where they paid glowing tributes to the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting took place as Vice President Shettima led a federal delegation to the United Kingdom on the directive of President Bola Tinubu to accompany Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for burial.
In a solemn moment of reflection, both Jonathan and Akufo-Addo described Buhari as a towering statesman and a committed patriot whose legacy would endure beyond his years in office.
The Vice President’s delegation includes Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.
The late President Buhari passed away in London on Sunday, prompting a wave of national mourning and tributes from across the globe. He is expected to be buried in his hometown, Daura, on Tuesday with full state honours.
