Global sports icons of Nigerian origin, Anthony Joshua, Tobi Amusan, and Tunde Onakoya have been named sports ambassadors for the National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place in in Ogun State in May 2025.
Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, who disclosed this in Abeokuta during the unveiling of the lead sponsor for the games said the personalities, of Ogun State origin, were chosen to inspire the youths and demonstrate that hard work pays.

The festival, tagged “Gateway Games” will hold from May 16 to 30, 2025.
Initially, the festival was scheduled for November 2024 in Ogun State, after the state clinched the hosting rights at the close of the 21st National Sports Festival in December 2022.
