The Joint Military Taskforce of Operation Delta Safe, Sector Four, has intercepted 23 drums of diesel suspected to being conveyed to militants camps where the Cameroonian Ambazonian fighters reside along the Bakassi corridor in Cross State, South-South Nigeria.
Briefing journalists at the headquarters of the Operation Delta Safe, Sector Four in Calabar, Component Commander of the troops, Sanni Sa’ad, said the product was intercepted along the creeks of Ikang, in Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Sa’ad who was joined by the State spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Solomon Eremi, explained that the suspects ran away while the confiscated products will be handed over to Government.

He called on the traditional rulers in area and citizens in general to collaborate with the security agencies in their efforts to get rid of criminals in their hideouts.
Operation Delta Safe is a joint security operation set up to protect oil and gas infrastructure, prevent oil theft, sea piracy and to also halt the activities of militants in the creeks in the nine states of the Niger Delta region.
