As Nigerians grapple with the ongoing resident Doctors strike, the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, has directed its members nationwide to embark on industrial action from Tuesday, April 6, following the expiration of a 21-day strike notice on Sunday, April 4.
A statement by JUSUN president, Marwan Adamu said the action became following the inability of the Government to implement financial autonomy in the Judiciary in line with the Constitution and other extant laws.
Adamu said the strike was billed to begin on Monday, April 5, but due to the Easter public holiday, it will now start on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
The JUSUN President added that all courts would be totally shut until the government does the needful.
The directive to Judiciary workers nationwide to begin strike is contained in a circular dated April 1, 2021, and signed by JUSUN General Secretary, Isaiah Adetola, where Members across the country are been asked to comply with the directive by the National Executive Council of the union.
