The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has announced incumbent president, Julius Mada-Bio as the winner of the Sierra Leone presidential election of June 24, 2023.
The ECSL declared president Julius Mada-Bio as the winner with 1,566,932 votes which is 65% of the total votes.
His opponent Samura Kamara got 1,148,262 which is 41.16% of the total votes.

Head of the ECOWAS Observation Mission to Sierra Leone, Mohamed Chambas, said the atmosphere of the polling stations was generally peaceful with security agents present in 92% of the polling stations they visited.
He said 37% of the polling stations observed, polling commenced within the first hour, while 63% of cases of polling started with considerable delays due to the late arrival of polling staff and polling materials.
He explained that ECOWAS provided capacity building for stakeholders on dialogue and mediation, conducted training on media in election reporting, held engagement with the management of ECSL and also provided 500,000 dollars in support of the conduct of the general elections.
