One body has so far been recovered and 6 people rescued from the rubble of a 3-storey building which totally curved in during the early hours of Saturday while the residents were asleep. The building located on Freeman Street in Lagos Island was said to have collapsed at about 4am.
The remains of the male child recovered has been transported to the mortuary while pre-hospital care has been administered to the 6 victims rescued by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA and the State’s Ambulance Service, LASAMBUS.

Officials of LASEMA, the building control agency LASBCA, Ministry of Physical Planning, Nigeria Police and the Lagos State Fire Service are on ground at the scene of the incident carrying out a multi-agency search and rescue operation.
